THE daughter of a Scotsman stranded in Nepal for months has written to the country’s prime minister demanding answers on her father’s whereabouts.
The 19-year-old’s parents, Christopher and Alisha Ling, separated earlier this year and left a note explaining their actions.
The family statement said Christopher had been “consistently contacted over a number of months” but not by family or anyone from the charity, which he was volunteering for.
Mum wrote: “I am writing to you as a mother seeking answers.
“My husband has been staying in a remote village in central Nepal for the past two months, after completing a difficult, but essential project.
“He has not been in contact with me and we do not know where he is.
“I am extremely concerned for his safety and the safety of the villagers. He is very experienced in this type of environment, and we have every reason to believe that he is staying out of danger.
“I would like to know if you will be able to assist, or if the Nepalese Government can assist, in locating him, and rescuing him.”
On the remote mountain village where her husband was volunteering, there is only one road.
The single 500m road is in the poor village of Gedoon.
Christopher, 26, an engineer and Foreign Office specialist officer with the MoD, was in Nepal between February 2 and 11 when he signed off work.
